Half Moon Beyond the Couch

Because your growth doesn't end at the office, or the finish line

CE courses, run coaching, and consulting for folks who are done pretending that burnout, hustle culture, or checkbox training is the best we can do.

So what is Behind the Couch, anyway?

Half Moon Beyond the Couch is what happens when clinicians, creatives, and deeply tired humans decide they’re done trying to grow inside systems that were never built for them.

This isn’t just for therapists. It’s for people who’ve felt invisible in the CE world, talked over in consulting spaces, or like they had to apologize for being “slow” every time they laced up for a run. You don’t need to be more polished or productive to belong here.

Yes, we offer CE courses, consulting, and run coaching. But really, this is about community. It’s about choosing real connection over performance. Honest questions over quick fixes. A little irreverence over empty inspiration.

What comes after the couch isn’t one clear path. It’s a series of choices (often messy and sometimes weird) that bring you closer to who you are and how you want to work, live, and move.

If you're still figuring it out, you're in the right place.
Because we are too.

Hi, I'm Brianna. This wasn't the plan

I’m a licensed therapist, reluctant entrepreneur, and the kind of person who accidentally started two businesses because I got sick of waiting for someone else to fix the broken systems around me.

Coming out at 30 blew my life wide open, in the best and worst ways. It forced me to reevaluate everything: how I worked, who I trusted, what I wanted, and who I was allowed to be. It was messy. It was necessary.

And I wouldn’t have made it through without community.

That same theme showed up again when I got into running. I started strong, got injured, and realized that coaching as it's usually offered isn’t built for people like me. If you’re not fast, skipping carbs, or willing to grind your body into the pavement for a shiny medal, you’re left out. Sound familiar?

The same thing happens in CE spaces. In business coaching. In every corner of the world that centers straight, white, cis men with money and a microphone. And I’m just not interested in mimicking that.

So I built Half Moon Beyond the Couch as the alternative I wish I had: a space for learning, growing, moving, and building with other humans who want to do the work, but not alone, and not at the cost of their values or their well-being.

You don’t have to be perfect here. You just have to be curious, willing, and a little over everyone else’s bullshit.

If that’s you? Welcome.

1

Continuing Education

CE that doesn’t make you want to throw your laptop. We tackle ethics, identity, and real clinical questions with nuance and relevance. Built for LGBTQIA+ clinicians and anyone tired of the same old "cultural competency" checkbox nonsense.

2

Consulting and Speaking

If you’re done pretending business as usual works for everyone, pull up a chair. I teach, consult, and keynote from lived experience; queer, therapist, leader, human. You’ll get honesty, context, and collaboration without the ego trip.

3

Run Coaching

You don’t have to run a 7-minute mile to deserve coaching. I work with folks who’ve been overlooked by traditional run spaces- queer, slow, injured, perfectionistic, questioning. Let’s build a training plan that’s actually built for you.

Topics I Get Loud About

Shadow on Concrete Wall

Coming Soon - The Collaborative

An intentionally small, deeply engaged support space for LGBTQIA+ business owners who are tired of building in isolation. This isn’t a mastermind, a Facebook group, or a one-way coaching container.

It’s a collaborative.

A space to swap strategies, workshop hard things, and hold each other accountable—without hustle culture, toxic positivity, or performative professionalism. We’ll challenge each other. We’ll learn from each other. And yeah, we’ll probably laugh/cry in the same 60-minute call.

Radically authentic, community-minded, and allergic to doing business the way we’re “supposed” to. This space is for folks who haven’t found the right kind of support to thrive.

If you’re tired of checking boxes and calling it growth, let’s try something else.
